Cloud.lic.io.us: a delic.io.us widget

Thursday, July 27th, 2006

cloudilious_iconCloud.lic.io.us is a widget that helps you quickly access your delic.io.us tags and bookmarks.

A new version was released today, which adds a “fancy slider” to the widget and a fix for changes in the delic.io.us API.

The widget offers a number of options to control the display of your tags.

You can choose — as you can in delic.io.us itself — to view only tags with one, two or five matches and more:

cloudilicious

Clicking one of the tags opens a slider drawer which displays the matching URLs. You can click on them to open them directly or jump to the display of the URLs in delic.io.us itself by clicking the arrow on the bottom of the drawer:

Cloud.lic.io.us looks like it is freeware and the latest patched version is available from the developer’s web site .delicious, widget, productivity, tags, bookmarks, not apple mail

MailTags for Gmail?

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

GmailDavid Chartier (demon blogger at TUAW but so much more ) wonders about tags for Gmail.

Apparently, a reader of David’s blog posted that he is working on a tags system for Gmail and that Google is interested in his idea.

David explores three areas which a tagging feature for Gmail would need to address.

He notes in conclusion, “I realize that some applications have plug-ins that can already do this, such as the MailTags plugin for Apple’s Mail.app, and that’s great.”

Oh, yes, it is.

I must have had some kind of Gmail-ectomy. I try to use it alot so that I will catch the spark, but it’s not working. I can’t help asking myself, why go out for hamburger, when I can stay home and have steak?gmail, Tags, Google, email, productivity, mail.app, apple mail, mailtags

Mail Scripts 2.7.10

Tuesday, January 24th, 2006

mailscriptsAndreas Amann has updated his very useful collection of AppleScripts for Mail.app.

Mail Scripts 2.7.10 features three improvements to the Archive Messages script:

  1. It fixes a bug that could result in missing messages if any of the exported messages contained “/”, “{“, or “}”.
  2. It fixes another bug that could result in incomplete messages when exporting HTML messages to RTF if the HTML messages contained anchor elements.
  3. It tries to be a little more forgiving about malformed HTML messages (e.g., missing closing tags) in order not to produce corrupt RTF files which would refuse to open.

Mail Scripts is freeware (donations not refused). You can get the updated version from Andreas’ web site.
