NotifX 1.6: Bouncing notification madness
Tuesday, February 14th, 2006
NotifX is a notification utility that offers all the appeal of animated bouncy-bouncy graphics on your desktop.
After installing it and entering your account details, you are able to choose from one of several animated notification icons each with its own engaging audio track:

Of course, these static screen-shots scarely do the icons justice.
You can watch in amazement as a cute puppy bounds up to your screen and waits patiently with envelope in mouth. If you ignore it (I confess), you then watch with alarm as it digs down through your screen and disappears.
The bouncy smiley you need to experience for yourself.
An updated version (1.6) offers the option of filtering designated emails into an “Undesirables” category and the ability to assign particular notification icons more selectively.
This utility doesn’t appeal much to me. But it is doubtless a first-rate, tip-top piece of software with wide appeal. I offer it to you in that hope.
NotifX is shareware (USD 15) and available from the developer’s web site
(UPDATE: This app is now deceased—8 July 2008)
