Adium Book is a utility that can synchronise Adium’s contact list and your Address Book.

The new version (1.3) released today is a universal binary, features some performance tweaks to improve the app’s speed and fixes some issues with Jabber accounts. It also offers support for multiple IM accounts in its Address Book view.

With Adium Book you can add Adium contacts to Address Book or update the information on an Address Book card using data from Adium.

It allows full text search of Adium contacts and Address Book and provides a range of reports, among them a listing of contacts without pictures, contacts in Adium but not in Address Book or a listing of contacts by IM service.

Get Mail is a simple AppleScript that prompts Mail.app to check for new messages when Adium gets a new mail notification.

You can run it from an action in Adium’s Events Preferences.

The Hawk Wings Plug-in and Add-on List gets three new additions this week:

1. Adium Book was added to the Address Book section.
2. Spell Catcher X was added to the Miscellaneous ‘helpful apps’ section
3. GTDMail was added to the Added Functionality section.

So that’s now 93 plug-ins, add-ons, scripts and helpful apps to help Apple Mail work smarter, quicker and better.

Adium Book is a stand-alone app that syncs information between your Adium contacts and Address Book.

Amongst other things, it can copy the contact’s picture and IM login from Adium to Address Book.

When launched it will open Adium and Address Book if they are not open and present you with the following main dialog:

This allows to search your Adium and Address Book contacts in a single interface and to add new contacts to Address Book using the information stored in Adium.

It can also give you reports of all your Address Book contacts with AIM, MSN, Jabber or ICQ accounts, and of all Adium contacts not in your Address Book and vice versa.

The developer favours a simple interface design: “One single fixed-size window. No preferences, no drawers, no tabs, no popup, no splash, no funky window resizing. (KISS)”
