Streetmaps UK plugin goes universal

Streetmaps UK is an Address Book plug in that maps UK address using the maps provided by www.streetmap.co.uk which are clearer than the MapQuest maps used in Address Book by default.

They are also pleasingly nostalgic to anyone who has used the London A to Z street directory:

The new version released today is a universal binary and offers several minor bugfixes.

Streetmaps UK is freeware and is available from the developer’s web site .

GoogleFill 1.1: Get addresses from phone numbers

GoogleFill is a plugin for Address Book that allows you to search Google for addresses that match any phone number in your Address Book.

For example, your mobile / cell phone offers the option to add the phone numbers of callers to your phone’s address book. The next time you sync your phone and Mac OS X Address Book, the number shows up in without any other information.

If you have this plugin installed, you can then right click on the number and select “Autofill from Google for”:

It then heads off to search Google. Wen it finds a match, if offers a confirmation dialog:

An updated version (1.1) released today is smarter about matching the phone numbers and is also a universal binary.

Mail.app, Entourage and LDAP

Snail Mail: Beautiful envelopes from Address Book

Snail Mail is a stand-alone app that addresses and prints envelopes based on the information in your Address Book.

It can print single envelopes or an envelope for every member of an Address Book Group. You also select multiple cards for printing on the fly.

Snail Mail can also print USPS or Australia Post barcodes on its envelopes. Finally, it trumps Address Book in its ability to print address lists.

The envelopes themselves look very good indeed:

You can see why Macworld gave it a four mouse rating.
