DoBeDo 2.3: iCal ToDo widget

Thursday, January 26th, 2006

dobedoDoBeDo is a widget that manages your iCal ToDos.

It will list your ToDos, but also allows you mark them as completed, to edit them and to select which ones to display.

It has been around for a while, but a new version was released today with a snazzy skin to match the new 10.4.4 Calendar widget:

As you can see, the reverse side offers various useful options.

The new version also displays subscribed calendars and fixes a bug that could cause the contents of a previous ToDo to “get stuck” in the Note box of the next one.

DoBeDo is freeware and available from the developer’s web site.

Restore Address Book link to Business Widget

Tuesday, January 24th, 2006

addressbookA poster on macOSXHints has noticed that the Business (or “Yellow Pages“) widget is broken in 10.4.4.

Due to Apple leaving some graphics out of the widget’s package (odd!), the option to add search results to Address Book is missing.

He provides a fix that involves copying the graphic files over from the People (or “White Pages”) widget.

10.4.4: Nothing new for Mail.app?

Thursday, January 12th, 2006

apple-logo-bwAccording to Tao of Mac, after the update to 10.4.4 Mail.app is still registering as version 2.0.5. This suggests that the update offers no significant improvements for Apple Mail users.

However, some of the WebKit HTML rendering improvements listed under Safari in the 10.4.4 release notes, might flow through to viewing HTML messages in Mail.app.

I’m not going to attempt to download the update on dial-up, so I have to wait two weeks before I find out.

If you spot something new, please share!
