Icon had black background. Drat. Opened PNG in Photoshop, saved as PSD. Icon had white background. Drat. Dropped PSD on img2icns, exported folder icon. Icon has transparent background. Copied and pasted into Mail Info window. Excellent. Probably you could leave out the Photoshop step. Opened in Graphic Converter, saved as PNG with icon preview. Icon had black background. Drat.

Some of the links to download certain versions are broken on the website, and when you do download them the copy and paste icon swap doesn't work, as each of the .png / .icns files doesn't have a preview of the icon in the top left under Get Info, it just uses a generic file-type icon. No amount of opening / saving / converting .png to .icns has changed it. Does anyone know how to do this another way? It is a shame, as I think they are great. I just can’t get these to work!
