New plugin brings star signs, age, iCal link to Address Book
Address Book Dates is a new plugin for Address Book that adds information about a contact’s star sign and age to Address Book’s birthday field.
It also offers quick iCal link to other dates like anniversaries.
Clicking on a contact’s birthday label brings up a contextual menu containing the information.
Unfortunately, the iCal birthday link takes you to the actual day on which the contact was born (an unlikely date to schedule a candle-lit dinner), not to the next occurrence of that date.
Address Book Dates is freeware, a universal binary and is available from the developer’s web site
.

I always missed the automatic Age calculation when moving from Entourage… I hope Apple add more of these fields to the Leopard version of Mail.app

Someone’s star sign is a feature about as interesting as the mean thickness of their left big toe. And there’s good reason AdressBook doesn’t provide an attribute for that.

I agree with you. But if everyone agreed with us, what a boring old world it would be :)
