The .wav files bombed Mail. Converting them to .aif solved the problem. As one says in polite company, "I dunno, maybe it's me!" Richard I’m using a Duo Core iMac running 10.4.8. I tried the Bugs Bunny one. Previously I was using a Chinese Gong sound I found here: http://www.buddhanet.net/filelib/audio/gong-chinese.wav It's a fairly dramatic way to introduce one's mail, but maybe I'll use Bugs for awhile. Wav format is fine.
