I have been having real problems with Mac Mail on 10.4.8 (previous versions no issue). PPC Mac Mail is 2.1 (752/752.2) and the Intel Mac is 2.1(752.3). We run a Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server on a Microsoft Small Business Server 2003. The Intel Mac works fine, the PPC Mac takes ages to sync (IMAP or Exchange account) and the Microsoft hard disks thrash for minutes at a time (no CPU usage just disk activity due to IMAP server going mental). The Intel Mac doing the same thing syncs in micro seconds and causes no problems. So, I believe the change between 752.2 and 752.3 is important

Hi Bill,

Yes, it was an odd forking of version numbers.

I won't hold it against you :) Although I am not sure that feeling πολυτρόπως most days is always good for focus.

Yes, Thanks, Don,

After my update to 10.4.8 I came here, but didn't do the right search param.

Finally, after sweating it through Apple Discussions, I am relieved to find that I (on a PPC PB) need sweat no longer. I tried everything to get that last ".1" to show up.

Thanks again for the thread. Let's all plan to meet again for the next (mysteriously un-documented) update.

Bill

P.S. After reading here for a while, I just read your Bio, Tim. This is a helpful place, you certainly are >.

P.P.S. Gosh I hope you won't hold a bad declension against me.

Thanks again.

Tabbing to the mailboxes and navigating through them with the keyboard was already in v2.1; have they changed it so a mouse-click works the same way, Neil?

I don't know when this was added, but keyboard navigation seems to be much better in this version of Mail - previously if you tabbed into the mailbox list you couldn't navigate up and down with the arrow keys, but this seems to work now.

A x.x.1 update probably means that they found a really small bug not worth mentioning. I'll post any changes I can find…

I did the 10.4.8 update on my 24-inch Intel Core 2 Duo iMac and my 14-inch iBook G4 last night. Mail.app changed to Version 2.1.1 (752.3) on the Intel iMac. It did not change on the iBook, it remained at 2.1 (752/752.2)?
