Hi Andy.

That sounds unpleasant. Once the Activity Viewer refused to open for me, and the solution of a slightly corrupt set of preferences.

Quitting Mail, moving the com.apple.mail.plist file out of the ~/Library/Preferences folder and onto the Desktop for backup and letting Mail recreate it when started again, fixed the issue for me.

I does mean reentering all your account details though.

I tried installing httpmail so I could access hotmail via "Mail" and it was a fiasco, didn't work correctly, I probably did something wrong, so I uninstalled it (I think) and decided to use Entourage until I learned how to work the Mac better -- now when I open Mail, it will open but I don't see the messages/main screen -- I have to go to "WINDOW/MESSAGE VIEWER" just to see the main Mail screen, and then when I try to quit Mail, it won't close, and I have to use the Force Close function. Help? Much thanks.....

Super! I'm a Hotmail user and it's really neat to see people ignoring M$'s evil propaganda crap and doing the real right thing. Just because we use Macs doesn't mean we shouldn't be allowed to use Hotmail. Grr!

I love HawkWings for finding this kinda stuff!
