Where did everyone go?
The USA must be having some kind of holiday. All bloggable news has dried up.
I toyed briefly with the idea of making some news up, but decided that Hawk Wings might as well have a little rest as well.
I hope that you enjoy the break. I know I will.
It is also a time for reflection, so here’s a small contribution from Thomas Jefferson
(1743-1826) (or possibly, Benjamin Franklin):

I’m almost certain that it’s Benjamin Franklin quote.
From Wikiquote, under Misattributed: “This has actually become a common paraphrase of a statement that is believed to have originated with Benjamin Franklin: ‘Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.’”

Thanks for the correction. So is the suggestion that Benjamin Franklin said it first, but Jefferson said it better?
