Thunderbird and MS Exchange Guide

Although written and illustrated with screenshots from the Windows version of Thunderbird, the author says that it applies equally to Macs.

A good Exchange administrator will turn off IMAP unless it is allowed by policy, therefore in most instances the aforementioned directions will not function. Thunderbird is severely missing native Exchange support.

  2. Zwane says:

Urgh, i wish they mentioned “IMAP” from the beginning so that i would know it isn’t actually Exchange server support but just setting up Thunderbird for IMAP.

  3. Chris J says:

I have to second Zwane - very deceptive description. It makes one believe that TB supports the Exchange Database, when it in fact does not.
Someone should take this article down, or correct it.

Is there a client other than outlook that supports exchange server? Thanks!

In Linux you can use Evolution for MS Exchange access. This appears to use the web interface on Exchange to get/put mail.
