Make smart use of time zones in iCal
Jeff Gamet at MacObserver has written a piece
on how to make clever use of time zones in iCal.
When correctly set up, the time zones feature in iCal is invaluable for people on the move:
When you switch time zones, your appointments will move in relation to your new location. My [MacObserver] meeting that shows up at 11:00am when I’m at my desk in Colorado jumps to 10:00am when I fly to California – showing me the correct local time for my meeting.
I would use this a lot if I had to travel.

The timezones are a step in the right direction. You can’t, however, show that your flight is 5:22 Central to 7:30 Pacific — you gotta choose one or the other. And I’ve encountered the occasional weird bug that suggests that the whole timezone notion is somewhat sloppily pasted on.

Very optimisticly I tried that feature last January when I went from Iceland to US for the MacWorld show. I was trying to make the most of my time so I had put the hours of the conferences into iCal before I took the flight. So… iCal’s timezone was 8 zones off! hehe
