<description>Hi - I've been reading for a little while, first time commenting.

First off, I love Gmail, but I try not to lose my objectivity completely.

As for tagging in Gmail, while it's a manual solution, what I do when I want tags is reply to a given message and address that reply to myself. Then I select all, and start typing the text or tags I want to use to search for it later. Works like a charm. Then I send it to myself and I have a rule that marks it as read and archives it so that it doesn't clutter up the inbox. Very quick, and so browser dependency (a la GreaseMonkey solutions).

Thanks for your site - email management is the keystone of living with digital information.
