Sneak your way into Yahoo Mail beta
CyberNet Technology News has posted a neat little trick
that will fool Yahoo! into offering you access to its Mail beta.
All you need to do is change your content country to the UK, France or Germany (Member Information > General Preferences > Preferred Content).
Change it back and you get an invitation to join the trial of Yahoo’s new flash interface.
Needless to say, Safari is not supported.

Works fine in Firefox. It looks, acts and feels like Mailapplicus generalis ie like just about every other mail application on the planet. I’m not sure what the fuss is about.

I guess the fuss is due to the fact that the word AJAX is involved.
It’s another one of these attempts to make a webmail interface that looks like a desktop one.

Eh. I’m less impressed with the new YMail than I am with the fact that I was able to deke out Yahoo by pretending to be British!
“Cheerio, I say! Smashing fun to be had. As for the Beta, well, bollocks and all that, not bloody innovative ‘t’all.”

Heh. I can’t get that thrill because I’m British - and who would want to pretned to be American?!?

Works o.k. in Camino from my initial test. Much faster and easier to use. However, MacFreePops 1.6 no longer works. Does anyone know why not?

A change in the authentication procedure at Yahoo? That’s often the cause.
