NetNewsWire gets Mail.app integration
A new public beta of NetNewsWire, the RSS reader, is available
from Newsgator, the app’s new home.
It has lots of new features and some tweaks to its interface and performance. Hawk Wings’ readers will be especially interested to hear of its tighter integration with Mail.app.
Rather like Safari, two new commands in the File menu offer options for emailing the contents of the news item and for emailing a link to the news item or page.
The email-contents command requires Apple Mail, although the email link command should work equally well with Thunderbird, Entourage and other email clients.
Nice one, Brent.

NetNewsWire is the best feed-reader on the Mac but it lacks one feature that would make me use it again – it doesn’t integrate well with the podcast features of iTunes. Sure, I can save podcasts downloaded by NNW to custom playlists, but not into the podcast management area of iTunes, from where easy iPod integration happens.

Hey — and just so you know — we added Hawk Wings to the Sites Drawer. (Check out the Macintosh and New in 2.1 groups.)

Bless you NetNewsWire — how else can I read 300+ sites daily in one coffee sitting? Regardless, this is a nice feature, though I probably only use 10% of the features out there on this guy:) I read the whole ‘New Items’ and read in tabs as required.
