Kevin Gerich and Stephen Horlander are the UI designers behind the default Pinstripe theme in Thunderbird.

In a post on his blog, Kevin describes the evolution of Thunderbird for Mac’s User Interface as they worked to give it a more “Mac-like” look.

The before and after shots are impressive:

Panther Mail’s UI is obviously a strong source of inspiration, although they wanted to “avoid copying Apple’s icons outright”.
