ABFiller: Importing Outlook Contacts made easy

ABFillerI’ve blogged three ways to import contacts from Outlook or Outlook Express into Address Book, using Outlook2Mac or by manual exporting and by using Mozilla. All of them are long and involved.

A freeware utility called ABFiller simplifies the process enormously, reducing it to six mouse clicks.

  1. Open the app.
  2. Select File > Open.
  3. Navigate to your PST file.
  4. Select it and click Open.
  5. Click OK in the next dialog to being importing.
  6. Click OK when the process is finished.

Good news for switchers everywhere! I wish I had known about this when I was switching.

ABFiller is freeware and available from the developer’s web site.

{Thanks, Andreas!].

Just moved to mac, and i have spent a great deal of time trying to move my contacts and mail from outlook on my XP machine, i found a great utility (MessageSave) that exported the files in .mbox and .vsf formats which were easily imported in my mac. Its a commercial product, but there is a trial version which is limited to 50 records per export.

You can also use Thunderbird under windows to convert to mbox first.
