Synk is one of many backup utilities on the market (see also Dej?ɬ† Vu, Dantz Retrospect, RsyncX, etc) that make it easy to create complete, daily, incremental backups of Apple Mail.

Backups, I need hardly mention, provide both on-going peace of mind and protection in case of catastrophic email disaster.

Just plug in the four files or folders needed for a complete backup of Mail.app, save it somewhere else (like an external drive) and worry no more.

A new version of Synk was released today with a fistful of bugfixes. It features “a clear, user-friendly interface usable by (advanced) grandmothers yet powerful enough for system administrators”.

Synk is shareware (USD 20) and available from the developer’s web site.
