Hi! I got my Macbook Pro yesterday and am getting started in the Apple world since then. I am absolutely stunned about almost everything in it: the world got much simpler with Apple. But it pretty suchs when it comes to emails...

You asked how is Mail.app treating me? It was wonderful until an hour ago, when it got completely crazy with my mailboxes and simply crashed, believe it or not.

I used to have Thunderbird for my emails on Win and it always worked perfectly (like Jack Mancilla I have about 20 Mailboxes but about as 3 times as much emails as he has). So I followed the steps from http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=347556 (using Eudora Light Cleaner) and managed to import my emails to
Mail app. But it simply got incredibly slow and didn't work any longer after I tried to reorganize my Mailboxes...

sk_dakota from this website (http://www.apfeltalk.de/forum/emails-thunderbird-mail-t27242.html) actually alerted that Mail app. takes several minutes to open big Mailboxes folders, but I was stubborn and wanted to try it for myself... it is sad to loose great funtions as Spotlight and having an organized unique Addressbook, but I will go back to Thunderbird.

Excellent news, Domenico! Yes, I like the three-panel view too. Still, I think of it as a small price to pay.

To follow up on your inclusion of me in your links above, I am loving Mail. It took a little while to get used to the different way of doing things, but I really like it. I am very happy that I am still able to use SpamSieve and all of the training for spam that I've done with it. I believe it runs even faster in Mail than Entourage.

The only things I miss from Entourage are the unique sorting abilities in message lists, the 3-panel side-by-side folder/message list/preview, and the ability to click on a message without it immediately becoming "read".

But you can! At least I can. You need hit the Tab key until the Mailbox Drawer is the active pane, and then you can arrow-key away to your heart's content.

I love my Mail.app. I love your blog. I have to use Outlook Express at work and it makes me want to smash the computer. 10.4.3 upgrade was smooth, no problems here. Keep up the good work!

I like mail. I used to use Eudora, but have switched to mail, quite a while ago. I have about 10,000 emails from 6 email accounts, filtered into about 20 mailboxes, by 100 rules for sorting the emails into the proper places. Mail is very easy to control.
