Hotmail gives Apple Mail the cold shoulder

hotmailMicrosoft’s Hotmail service is not delivering emails from Apple Mail users.

A poster on Apple’s Mail and Address Book discussion board reports that emails sent to Hotmail accounts from Mail.app just “disappear”. They don’t bounce or end up in the spam folder. They just vanish.

He has also found a work-around. Hotmail users who are cc’ed in an email will receive the message. So if you are emailing someone with a Hotmail account, send the email to yourself and carbon copy it to the intended recipient.

Also, double-check whether you have sent any important emails to people with Hotmail accounts in the last week or two. They may not be ignoring you. They may never have received the email.
