“Disappearing Hotmail” work-around #2
In addition to the “carbon-copy trick”, users on the Apple Mail discussion board have discovered another way around the “disappearing Hotmail” problem.
If you change the priority of the message to “Low” or “High” it will get through. If you leave it at the default, “Normal”, it won’t.
You can set the priority of a message by selecting “high” or “low” from the Message menu:

Or you can add the priority box to the Compose window permanently by clicking on the Options drop-down menu on the left of Mail.app’s Compose window and choosing “Customize”:

Then check the Priority drop-down menu on the right-hand side to place it there permanently:

I only know one person with a Hotmail address, but it’s my brother, so I need a quick work-around during the current “Hotmail is eating Apple Mail messages” crisis to make sure that my emails get through to him.
