IT NOW WORKED!!

It took one and a half day for Eudora mailbox Cleaner to go through my imported profile mail file (Thunderbird imported from Windows Mail). Then something started to happen (it happen all the time but I wasn't sure of it ;o)). Then all my mailbox folders were in Apple Mail - BUT the were all empty!
I found an italian blog describing how well Eudora Mbx Cleaner had worked AND describing that you had to go in each imported mailbox and "rebuild" it (Mail menu: mailbox>rebuild>) And all the messages appeared!!

Thanks for such a good application!! what coukd be improved is the "how-to-go" step by step, for us non-computer-geniuses... ;o)

Hi,
I'm switching from PC to Mac, and as many of you above have been having problems with my mail: like Benedikt only one message came over i each folder (!). I´m trying with Eudora Mailbox Cleaner, and it's taking long time. Is that how it should be? (it's been going on for an hour now). I draged the whole mail folder (imported from windows mail to thunderbird in my PC).

Thankfull for any further advise on how exactly I should do!

Thunderbird filters for mail..

I want to move to apple mail because the "send" capabilty on applications, which opens a new email message and attaches the document to the message does not work for thunderbird under OS X 10.4/5. Plus, attachments in messages cannot be moved and opened from the email message independantly without a dialog.

But, the problem is.. how do I move my filters from thunderbird to mail?

Any thoughts?

Does this import the mail server and account settings as well, or just the emails?
If just the emails, is there a way to import the mail server and account settings?

Cheers,

Graham.

I see no one's replied to Rich's comment: this is the only reason I haven't made the switch--because I can't import my numerous filters on Thunderbird into Apple Mail.

What about Thunderbird filters into apple Mail rules?
I use thunderbird as my email client, and I plan on continuing that I think.
The reason I wish to import my filters as rules, is that the apple mail settings are syncd to my new iPhone from work. But when mail comes to me via iMap on my phone rather then in thunderbird on any mac I have the emails are not properly filtered into the right folder, and then even on thunderbird unless I manually apply filter to folder it stays in the inbox.

although you should thank Andreas not me.

I will certainly do that. It's just that without your little hint I'd never thought that an app called "Eudora Mailbox Cleaner" would help me to import Mails from Thunderbird to Apple Mail.

That's good news, although you should thank Andreas not me. :)

I remember that the actual transfer of data was a bit of a pain when I switched three years ago. Yes, it is a puzzle.
