Tiger users keen to read emails on their iPods do not need to wait for MailToPod to produce a compatible version. There are at least two ways to do it right now.

First, Pod2Go will transfer your emails to any iPod (except the Shuffle), along with news feeds, movie schedules, weather reports, stock prices, lyrics, gas prices, street directions and a lot of other things. Pod2Go costs USD 12.

Secondly, a Dutch blogger has produced a modified version of one of the example Automator Workflows that shipped with Tiger. It will copy Apple Mail messages to an iPod for reading on the go.

I do not own an iPod so I can’t test it. Looking at the Workflow, it will copy all the unread, non-Junk messages in Apple Mail onto your iPod and save them as notes, which you can access on your iPod under its Extras menu.
