I don’t own a PDA of any kind, but if I did this conduit for synching and transferring emails between Apple Mail 2.0 and Palm Desktop would get a good workout.
It supports Mail 2.0 and the Palm mail programs Mail, Mark/Space Mail and VersaMail. From the screenshot you can see that its operation is quite sophisticated:

The conduit is freeware although donations are not refused. It is available from the developer’s website, the same developer who makes the excellent menubar notification utility, MailUnreadStatusbar.

It’s not quite as good as I’d hoped: it stores the Outgoing Mail created on the Palm in the Drafts folder, not Outgoing.
Otherwise, seems pretty good. I only ever planned to use it to prepare mail to send.
Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to work with ‘Agendus Mail’, al very good and popular mail app for Palm OS…?! Maybe I’ll try contacting the developer about that…
Good idea. I’ve exchanged emails with him in the past. He’s a nice guy.
Wanted to try this application out but the website doesn’t seem to be functioning.
I’ve tried logging on on a Mac OS 10.4
Yes, it’s down for me too. I’m sure it will be up again soon.
[...] Apple Mail Conduit which syncs Mail.app emails with Palm PDAs has been updated. [...]
This is a great conduit. It seems a little picky on my set up. It will sometimes make my Hot synch manager stop and crash after transferring mail. This seems to happen every 5 or so synchs. But I have found a work round. When this happens, I set the conduit to make the Mac overwrite the Palm, (in the conduit preffs) synch once, then switch back to synch both palm and Mac, and all is well again.
This may not be the fault conduit causing this, but may be a combination of my system/ set up etc.
It’s my favorite and most used conduit, mail app, and palm add on. If you have a Mac, a Palm device and use Apple Mail app, it’s a must have.
I would like to thank the developer, and this web site for making this available.
Thanks for the feedback.
I don’t have the gadgets to try this out properly, so it’s especially good to hear from people who do.
An update,
I sent an e mail to the developer, and he kindly took the time to return my e mail with directions on what to do to stop my synch from crashing.
Very kind chap.
Thanks again to the developer and this site for making ot possible to synch my e mail.
Cheers
J-
can you share the instructions on what to do to stop my synch from crashing. I am having the same problem.
Thanks,
Tom
HI there Tom,
Here is what I do,
go to documents > Pam > Users > coduit setings
Then trash the appleMail Folder. I(t will get recreated during the next sync.)
Then re sync and you should be good to go. I have to do this every so often, but otherwise this is a perfect conduit. And realy makes life easier.
Hope That helps,
Report Back and let us know.
Peace and happy email.
J
Has anyone been able to make outgoing mail copy to the sent folder once it is sent from the Palm rather than the draft folder? I’m using Missing Sync and Mark/Space Mail.
Is there any way to fix the crashing issue. it happens to me everytime i sync. The only time it works is on the initial install. Then it’s flawless. It’s a tease… I use Apple Mail and Versamail 3.1 (treo 650) can I or can’t I have the html checked? gmail is my email account.
I followed the instructions exactly. I get an error every time and the sync process will not happen. The log says the following with regard to Mail:
AppleMail 2.0.1
Mac OS X SysSccript (0)
Mail.app version=(2.1.1)
Mail.app is Tiger edition.
HotSync USER = (Leslie Sherlin)
EmailIDandRecIDArray is empty. Change slow mode.
Selected Palm application(Mail)
html_flag=(0)
MailDB open error(4003)
AppleMail synchronization failed
“AppleMail†failed (error = #16387)
This is a plugin I would LOVE to have and it is easy enough to manage it if I could just get it to work. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Thanks
Have you tried sending an email to the developer? His email address is on the profile page of his web site
? I have found him very helpful in the past.
Hi please help. I have been trying to download and install Palm Desktop so that I can use my palm m515 on my imac OS X. Everytime I have tried to download I am prompted to convert the file. What do I do? I have been trying for days.
Thanks so much.

Leslie, why not drop the developer an email? He has been very responsive in the past.
Hi there,
Just got myself a new palm TX, and stumbled across this conduit for hot sync. It looks like it would be most helpful, but I get the same error message that both bobby and leslie got. Leslie, did you hear back from the developer?
Cheers,
Joe.
