ePOST: A peer-to-peer email service
Here’s a potentially clever idea. ePOST is a server-less P2P email service in which each user contributes a small amount of storage and bandwidth in exchange for email access.
ePOST is compatible with POP/IMAP clients (including Apple Mail for which set-up instructions are provided) and promises to offer “secure email between ePOST users, an organically scaling service that requires no dedicated hardware and very high availability and data durability”.
Check out ePOST’s webpage for more information.

Jesus this just sounds like a horrible idea. Sure it’s encrypted but I highly doubt that’s secure enough to do anything serious. SHA1 and MD5 are slightly broke right now and as far as I can tell they’re not using something like SHA256 (which should be easily broken due to the insecurities with SHA1).
Then you’re allowing anybody out there to use it due to the the way that p2p works? Thanks guys, just make it easier to spam!
