Andreas Amann released an updated version of Eudora Mailbox Cleaner last week. This app translates Eudora’s non-standard mailboxes into formats that can easily be imported into Apple Mail and other mail clients without loss of data or scrambling.
It allows you to bring your mailboxes, nicknames and filters over to Apple Mail from both the PC and Mac versions of Eudora. The process is as simple as dragging your “Eudora folder” onto Eudora Mailbox Cleaner’s icon in Finder. Due to changes in the way Mail 2.0 in Tiger stores messages, selecting “Rebuild” from Apple Mail’s Mailbox menu is required to finish installation.
Eudora Mailbox Cleaner is donation-ware and is available from Andreas’ website, where you will also find Mailscripts, his excellent collection of AppleScripts for Apple Mail.

[...] UPDATE: In the comments to this entry, Andreas Amman points out some problems with the tip on masOSXHints and MozillaZine. He notes that Eudora Mailbox Cleaner now handles the importing of Thunderbird mailboxes as well (and better). Thanks, Andreas. [...]
Hi there,
the best way for me so far is to import mbox files from mozilla based clients to entourage and then send them to apple mail. It’s fast and handy.
