Two more Gmail helper apps

gmail+growlGrowl+Gmail is an addition to GMail Notifier, which works with Growl to provide “flash-up notifications” on your screen as mail arrives for you in your GMail account. Rather like Mail Appetizer does for Apple Mail.

The latest version 1.2 adds the Address Book picture (if available) to the Growl notification.

Growl is a program that provides notifications, or on-screen messages, when events occur in programs. For example, it can display notifications for new tracks playing in iTunes. It works with a growing number of apps.

And Ken Ferry, the creator of Mail Type Select, has written another app, AddressBook2CSV, which extracts all your Address Book entries in CSV (Comma-separated values) format, so that you can upload the info into your online Gmail Contacts. Useful on those sad occasions when you can’t use Apple Mail to read your Gmail messages.
